Balihoo Featured in Advertising Age Article as an Emerging Force in Media Planning
Boise, Idaho – August 6, 2007 – Balihoo, Inc., developer of the advertising industry’s first and only vertical search engine for advertising media, was featured in the Advertising Age August 6th print edition as well as online at www.adage.com.
Written by Ad Age Digital Editor, Abbey Klaassen, the article is titled “Hoping to Be the Google for Media Planning.” The Balihoo-Google comparison stems from Balihoo’s industry-changing comprehensive search capability, providing one information resource for any advertising opportunity across all mediums. The article states that a “media planner can enter a category or genre -- say, kayaking -- and it'll return all the media properties about kayaking…including ones that might not be included in traditional media-planning tools such as Nielsen's SRDS service. While some marketers might do Google searches instead, Balihoo refines results to include only properties where advertisers can buy media.”
The story also features feedback from one of the top ten media planning and buying agencies in the U.S. in terms of ad dollars spent. Balihoo Beta user Lynne Langlois, group account director at Carat USA, was quoted as saying "the information is great, easy to use,” and that Balihoo enables “a more holistic view of media." Balihoo currently has 6 of the top 10 US media buying and planning agencies involved with its Beta rollout.
